The 5th Potters Bar Scout Group is an ‘open sponsored’ Group which means we are sponsored by K.C.M. but ‘open’ to take boys of any creed.

Scouting started in 1907 with Robert Baden-Powell’s experimental camp on Brownsea Island in Poole harbour, Dorset. This group started in 1939, and was first officially allowed to wear the Royal Stuart Tartan in 1958. The scarf can only be worn with special permission of the Queen and we are one of only about 12 Groups in the country that wear the Royal Stuart Tartan Scarf.
