The Men’s Group is a social group for men (and sometimes ladies).
The group meets on an ad hoc basis for an activity, walk, meal or just a pint!
Activities have included:
The group is open to all and provides a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
The group is organised by Bill Simpson and details are published on the church calendar on the home page. Why not join us?
The Reading For Pleasure Group started in 2010 and is still going strong. The membership has changed over the years but the format remains the same. We meet on the second Friday of the month from 10.30-12.noon in the Lounge with a coffee to discuss what we have chosen to read over the last month. Everyone selects a book of their choice of any genre. This ensures we cover a wide range of reading: often reading books we might otherwise never have read and writers we have never encountered. This leads to really good discussions and lots of laughter.
We also have occasional social events such as a Christmas lunch at a local hostelry of choice, trips to the theatre and to Willyotts or to places of interest both far and wide. The picture shows members attempting a literary quiz, which was an innovation.
If you are a church member and enjoy reading why not come along. You will be most welcome.
