We have a long tradition of leading worship at Parish Eucharist as a robed 4-part choir, affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music. We are in the process of extending our repertoire of motets, anthems, and special music for Lent, Easter and Christmas Services.
We are a unique organisation in that all generations are represented. Our superb choirstalls are designed for a choir of 24, so we have a little room. If you enjoy singing, can sing in tune, can commit to a minimum of two Friday evening practices from 7.00-8.00 pm per month and can be in the vestry at 8.50 am for a warm-up every Sunday, please consider joining our membership. Boys and girls aged 7 and over, adults: soprano, alto, tenor and bass are welcome. Singing is good for you, it’s fun and it enhances our worship together.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Simon Worley via the Parish Office.
The music group is responsible for leading the more informal worship at the 11 o’clock service. We have a rota of musicians and singers.
At various stages in its history the music group has included a wide range of instrumentalists including pianists / keyboard players, guitarists, drummers, recorder players, saxophonists and a violinist.
We have also produced a number of large scale musical events such as “Make Way for Christmas” and “Make Way for the Cross” for which we were joined by musicians and singers from other churches in Potters Bar. We welcome musicians and singers (with a modicum of talent). We have ad hoc practices so the demands are not great.
